The holidays are exciting, energetic, entertaining, and should be easy. However, making sure the toys that you are purchasing for your children or other peoples’ children is hard. Sometimes it can be hard to determine whether a toy is safe or not until after you’ve already opened it. Thankfully, there are reviews and studies online that show us if a toy is safe or not. #10 Star Wars Mandalorian Darksaber
The main concern with the Darksaber is that it has the potential for blunt force and eye injuries. The toy is advertised to “swing for battle” which makes kids ready to swing heavily on any and all things. As we all know, kids have no boundaries so if they’re told to swing for battle, they’re swinging hard.
#9 My Sweet Love Lots to Love Babies Minis
With the My Sweet Love by Lots of Love Babies Minis hazard is choking. The babies are targeted towards two-year old’s. The babies also come with accessories that are quite small and be a very dangerous choking hazard.
#8 Boom City Racers
This toy could cause eye and facial injuries. The Boom City Racers are race cars with a launcher. Children as young as four years old can play with these race cars and obviously, their aim isn’t the greatest.
#7 Boomerang Interactive Stunt UFO
The hazard that comes with the Boomerang Interactive Stunt UFO is the propeller-related injury. It’s advertised to throw the boomerang into the air, so it performs amazing stunts and tricks. However, it is later stated in the warnings that it’s encouraged just to toss the boomerang back and forth with someone.
#6 Sci-Fi Slime
With any “science experiment” one of the main hazards is the potential of a chemical-related injury. No child should be playing around with chemicals, especially foreign ones. Make sure the child is completely supervised should you purchase the Sci-Fi Slime.
#5 WWE Superstar Fists
Similar to the Darksaber, the WWE Superstar Fists have a potential for blunt force and impact injuries. These fists are targeted towards three-year old’s to reenact WWE fighters. There are also no warnings to be cautious when fighting with these fists.
#4 Gloria Owl
Although stuffed animals are a common gift to babies, there is always a possibility of ingestion and suffocation. The long hair on the Gloria Owl can shed off and get caught in the airway of a child or infant.
#3 Marvel Avengers Vibranium Power FX Claw
As seen in Black Panther, the Vibranium Power FX Claw is super cool, even to adults. However, this toy has the potential for eye or facial injuries. These hazards are very prominent as in the movie, the Black Panther does use his claw to scratch at things and damages them.
#2 Missile Launcher
Like almost every other toy on this list, the Missile Launcher is hazardous for facial and eye injuries. To operate this toy, you must pull the missile back in the launcher. This is extremely close to the child’s face as pictured on the packaging. There is no mention of the potential eye or face injuries.
#1 Calico Critters Nursery Friends
The Calico Critters are targeted to ages three and older, however, there is still a choking hazard. These Nursery Friends come with small parts that children may put in their mouth and choke on.
The holidays are for high spirits and if a child were to get injured by a toy, well, that wouldn’t really keep everyone in high spirits. If these toys were purchased by you or someone else and are now in your child’s possession, make sure to have 100% supervision when they are playing with their toys.
